Racing Cars in Your Maths Classroom?

Wow .. it was great to see you yesterday .. if you took a car .. text John and get coding to run it around your classroom!!

• Data, data and more data .... we are drowning in it!
• This workshop will show you how to have some fun with it .. by racing toy cars and allowing your students to experience linear and non-linear data models.
• Remotely controlled cars are a common toy, many students will have one .. and will have played with them without thinking of coding or building them!
• We can use pseudo code to analyse the functions of the controller and the toy car.
• We must first measure the distance travelled.
• We must then program the car and the phone/pad to transmit and receive the data.

	First we need a moving device.  A made-up toy car will do!     We then need to program the toy car to transmit the distance travelled and the time taken.
